During my Thanksgiving break my family and I did something completely out of the ordinary for us. We traveled to North Carolina to spend our Thanksgiving with their two friends from their 20s, they used to all live together in Outerbanks. Other than my parent’s two friends and their son, I did not know a single person. I used the time to film the final project for my class. This film showcases the wonderful characters my parents have surrounded themselves with over the years. Friends who become family are like a winning lottery ticket — rare, unexpected, and life-changing. Along the way, people may choose you as their own, sometimes before you even realize it.
